Following the beguiling brouhaha with two of their most successful series Tandav and Mirzapur, Amazon Prime Video has chosen to suspend the release of their next Big Indian Series considerably. The family man Season 2 release date postponed from February 12, stands postponed for now. The trailer, which was to release on January 19, will now be out closer to the new streaming data, whenever which will be.
Confirming this saddening development, a source very on the brink of the project tells me, "It is true. The family man Season 2 has been postponed indefinitely, much to the frustration of Manoj Bajpayee and, therefore, the co-director Raj-DK. The motive is the Amazon has taken a beating in India, with two of their most successful series Tandav and Mirzapur, coming under the scanner for allegedly hurting popular predilections. Amazon doesn't feel the atmosphere is conducive to the release of an enormous franchise just like the family man."
But The family man series has no argumentative content at all?
Responds to the source, "You know that. I do know that. But who knows what triggers off an adverse reaction within the public? Amazon would rather await a more opportune time to release a crucial show just like the family man."
The source also adds that the co-director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK don't have anything to do with the postponement. "DK and Raj have given the whole series of The family man season 2 to Amazon. They need nothing to try to to with the choice to carry back the series. As far as DK and Raj are concerned, the show is planned for streaming whenever Amazon decides to do so. The co-directors haven't any intention of modifying anything within the second season because there's nothing even remotely objectionable within the series."
