As India continues to battle the disastrous effects of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, various celebrities in India have improved to try to do their bit by providing towards COVID relief efforts. In his latest blog, Amitabh Bachchan thanked the govt of Poland, the mayor of Wroclaw, the Ambassador of India at Warsaw, and, therefore, the LOT Polish Airlines for accommodating his order of fifty oxygen concentrators.
Amitabh Bachchan announced that the Indian consul in Wroclaw had stepped in to send him a transportable oxygen concentrator for his personal emergency use. However, the actor stated that he would rather donate an equivalent to institutes in India that required it urgently.
Bachchan said that the Indian Consul in Wroclaw helped him with details of a Polish company making oxygen concentrators. "I immediately placed an order for 50 Oxygen Concentrators, which were blocked on behalf of me by him, since the equipment briefly supplied and was being manufactured and sold out rather rapidly."
Bachchan also ordered 20 ventilators, of which ten are delivered to the BMC and a couple of Municipal hospitals in Mumbai. At the same time, the balance of 10 is expected to be delivered by the top of May.
