Raga Pahadi Based Bollywood Songs

The classical songs of our industry have always been magnificent to the ears of the listener. The skillful musicians in our industry carefully crafted each song that came out in the earlier times. Music was the way to unite people, it still is, but in the older days, people usually would sit in groups, chitter-chatter, and listen to songs. That practice is not much seen nowadays; instead, people sing karaoke in groups. Hindi Karaoke With Lyrics has become relatively popular and is still growing.

One of the most extraordinary things about songs was that all songs were based upon a raga. Similarly, a significant raga was Raga Pahadi. Raga Pahadi is a prominent folk music-based raga. It gets its name from the hilly terrain of the Himalayas. It is similar to two other ragas that exemplify the rich cultural history of folk music: Mand from Rajasthan and Pilu from the Hindi heartland. It's a light raga that sounds more like a 'dhun'. It is often used in Hindi music and may occasionally be used to mimic many echoes.

So now, here are a few songs that are prominently based on Raga Pahadi.

Here it goes!

This classic song is from the movie Aradhna, which came out in 1969. It stars Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles. The song is in the beautiful voice of the duo of Lata Mangeshkar Ji & Kishore Kumar.

This wonderful song came out in 1967. S.D gave the music in the movie. Burman. Various artists sing the song; Lata Mangeshkar, Dev Anand, Vyjayanthimala, and Mohammed Rafi. The movie Jewel Thief featured Dev Anand and Vyjayanthimala in lead roles, who were also a part of the song's voice.

This song is from the 1979 romantic movie, Noorie. The movie featured Poonam Dhillon in the lead role. The song is in the voices of Nitin Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar. Khayyam was the music producer for the movie.

  • Kaise Jiyunga Main Agar Tu Na Bani Meri Sahiban

From the 1993 movie Saahibaan, this classic hit in the voices of Jolly Mukherjee and Anuradha Paudwal. Anand Bakshi worded the song while Shiv Hari composed it.

This song is in the voice of Kishore Kumar, alone; t was in the movie Kashmir Ki Kali, in which O.P. Nayyar composed the music with S.H. Bihari. The movie was released in 1964. Shammi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore were the star cast.

This song in the voices of Lata Mangeshkar & Kishore Kumar was released in 1974 in the movie Aap Ki Kasam, in which R.D. Burman & Anand Bakshi were the music producers. The movie featured Mumtaz, Rajesh Khanna, and Sanjeev Kumar.

Chandni movie, which was released in 1989, featured this song. Shiv-Hari, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivkumar Sharma were the music producers in the movie, and Lata Mangeshkar & Babla Mehta sang the song.

The song is in the voice of Mahendra Kapoor, and it came out in 1967 in the movie Hamraaz. Ravi was the music director in the movie, and Sunil Dutt played the lead role.

The 1967 movie Ram Aur Shyam featured this song. Naushad was the music director, and the song is in the voices of Mohammed Rafi. Mumtaaz, Waheeda Rehman, and Dilip Kumar played the lead roles in the movie.

This retro song is from the movie Dulari, which was released in 1949. Naushad was the music producer, and Mohammed Rafi sang the song. Madhubala and Geeta Bali nailed the lead roles in the movie.

Surprisingly, the most regularly chosen raga for creating Hindi cinema songs has been Pahadi. The raga incorporates folk sounds and echoes of mountain ranges and expresses peace, charm, and a sense of eternal love. It may be humorous or reflective, and it adds a calming poignancy to songs about departure or separation.

So, find the best karaoke for the songs and keep singing!
