Papon has wrapped up his month-long Sham-E-Mehfil 2025 tour, a soulful musical journey that breathed new life into traditional ghazals. Spanning several cities across India from Pune and Mumbai to Kolkata, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and finally Delhi the tour offered audiences a poetic fusion of melody, emotion, and modern sound.
Through Sham-E-Mehfil 2025, Papon reimagined ghazals for today’s generation by blending classic compositions with global influences like jazz and blues, while keeping their heartfelt essence intact.
Reflecting on the experience, Papon shared,
“This tour was born from my love for ghazals and the beauty of live performance. Each city had its own magic every audience added new emotions to every song. It felt like one rhythm, one heartbeat, connecting us all through music.”
Known for his soulful experimentation, Papon added that he aims to present ghazals in a contemporary soundscape that resonates with today’s listeners while honoring their lyrical depth.
Expressing gratitude to his fans, he said,
“I’m deeply thankful to everyone who joined me on this journey the musicians, the crew, and most importantly, the audience. Their warmth, energy, and love made every evening truly unforgettable.”
The concerts featured timeless renditions like Kaun Kehta Hai Mohabbat Ki Zubaan Hoti Hai, Tum Jo Itna Muskura Rahe Ho, Zamana Lage, and a heartfelt tribute to the late Zubeen Garg through Jaane Kya.
As Papon gears up to release his upcoming ghazal album featuring original compositions and fresh poetic expressions his work continues to bridge generations, proving that music, like emotion, evolves yet never fades.
