Saira Banu Was Discharged From Hospital; Sources Says She 'Is Back Home And Resting.'

Saira Banu was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on August 28, following shortness of breath, hypertension, and high sugar protests. 

Veteran actor Saira Banu has gotten back after being released from a hospital here, close family friend Faisal Farooqui said on Sunday. 

In July, the 77-year-old Padosan actor, who lost her husband Dilip Kumar, was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital, a non-Covid-19 office, in Khar on August 28 after shortness of breath, hypertension high sugar. 

"Saira Ji is progressing admirably. She's released and is back home. Resting. Much obliged to you for your petitions," Faisal Farooqui told PTI. 

On Thursday, a hospital doctor had said that Saira Banu had been diagnosed with a heart problem - intense coronary disorder. 

After a long infirmity, Saira Banu's husband and screen icon Dilip Kumar died on July 7 at the age of 98.

The couple, who acted together in a few movies, including Sagina and Gopi, got married in 1966. 

Saira Banu made her acting debut with Shammi Kapoor in the 1961 film Junglee and proceeded to show up in motion pictures like Bluff Master, Jhuk Gaya Aasman, Aayi Milan Ki Bela, Pyar Mohabbat, Victoria No. 203, Aadmi Aur Insaan, Resham Ki Dori, Shagird and Diwana.
